Attendance
Students should attend classes regularly and arrive on time, ready to learn. Regular attendance helps students progress and supports the group as a whole. If a student will be absent, parents or guardians should inform us where possible.
Our Policies
Behavior
Locked In Dance Company is a space of respect and growth. Students are expected to treat teachers, peers, and studio property with care. Bullying, disruptive language, or exclusionary behavior will not be tolerated. We cultivate a positive environment where every dancer is encouraged to succeed.
Uniform
Uniform Policy
Uniform is required for all children’s classes; however, this is not required for a student’s first class.
Street Dance: LIDC shirt, leggings or joggers, and clean trainers.
Ballet: Black leotard, tights, and black ballet shoes ( Anyone enrolled will receive an email with links to these products).
Contemporary: LIDC shirt, leggings or joggers, bare feet.
Disco Freestyle: LIDC shirt, leggings or joggers, bare feet.
Adult Classes: No uniform required. Please wear appropriate clothing. LIDC shirts are optional.
Health & Safety
Student safety is our priority. Please inform staff of any medical conditions or injuries before class. Warm-ups and cool-downs are mandatory. Parents must drop off/pick up students promptly. Emergency contact details must be kept up-to-date in our portal. Students must not attend classes if they are unwell or showing symptoms of illness, to help protect the health and safety of others. A make-up class may be offered where possible, but this is not guaranteed and is at the owner’s discretion.
TERMS OF SERVICE
Payments & Refunds
All class fees, private lesson fees, and workshop payments must be paid in full in advance to secure your booking. Locked In Dance Company operates a strict no refund policy. All payments made are non-refundable and non-transferable, including missed classes, cancellations, or change of circumstances. Military PCS Clause: Refunds may be issued in the event of official military relocation (Permanent Change of Station – PCS). Valid official documentation must be provided as evidence. If approved, a refund will be issued for any remaining unused classes only. Classes already attended are non-refundable. By making a payment, you agree to this policy.
Liability & Safety
Locked In Dance Company prioritizes safety, however, participation in dance activities is at the student's own risk. The studio and its instructors are not liable for any injuries sustained during training or loss of personal property. Parents must ensure all medical conditions are disclosed upon registration to ensure instructors can provide appropriate support.
Media & Photography Consent
We celebrate the achievements of our dancers through photography and film. By enrolling at LIDC, you grant permission for images and videos of your child to be used for our website, social media, and marketing materials. To opt-out of this consent, please contact the owner in writing at the time of registration.
SAFEGUARDING & CHILD PROTECTION
At Locked In Dance Company, the safety and well-being of our dancers are our highest priorities. We are committed to providing a secure environment where every child can grow, learn, and express themselves without fear. All our staff and volunteers undergo mandatory Enhanced DBS checks and receive comprehensive safeguarding training. We maintain strict supervision ratios during all classes and events, ensuring that every student is supported and protected both in the studio and across our online platforms. Our digital presence is carefully moderated to safeguard our community in line with UK best practices and parent-friendly values.

REPORTING A CONCERN

Contact the DSL Immediately
If you have a concern regarding the welfare of a child or an adult at LIDC, contact our Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) immediately. You can reach the DSL at Lockedindancecompany@gmail.com or 07864 809134. Your report will be treated with absolute confidentiality and respect.

Document and Formalise
Provide a factual account of the situation, including dates, times, and clear observations. Use our internal Incident Reporting Form available from the front desk or email us directly. This record ensures we have the necessary details to take appropriate action following UK safeguarding regulations.

Review and Response
The DSL will review all reports within 24 hours. Depending on the severity, we may involve external agencies such as the Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) or the police. We assure you that all concerns are taken seriously and followed by strict procedural outcomes to ensure student safety.
Class policies
Class Bookings
Adult Policy-
Booking a Class
-All classes must be booked in advance through our online system or by contacting our studio.
-Bookings must be made at least 1 day (24 hours) before the scheduled class.
-Your spot is secured once your booking is confirmed.
Cancelling a Class
-You may cancel a class up to 48 hours prior to the scheduled start time.
-Cancellations made within 48 hours of the class are not eligible for a refund or makeup class.
Rescheduling a Class
-You may reschedule a class up to 24 hours prior to the scheduled start time.
-Rescheduling is subject to availability.
-Classes rescheduled less than 24 hours in advance will be counted as attended and deducted from your membership allowance.
No-Shows
-If you do not attend a class without cancelling or rescheduling, the class will be deducted from your membership allowance.
-This policy ensures fairness for all members and allows others to secure spots in popular classes.
Class Cancellations by Locked In Dance Company
-We reserve the right to cancel any class at any time.
-If a class is cancelled, we will provide as much notice as possible.
-Members affected by a cancellation may choose another class within their membership allowance.
Membership Allowances
-Classes are deducted from your membership based on the plan you have chosen.
-Any missed classes due to late cancellations, no-shows, or rescheduling violations will count toward your total monthly/class allowance.
Additional Notes
-We encourage all members to book early to secure spots in high-demand classes.
-Thank you for helping us create a respectful, fun, and committed dance community.
Workshops & Events
Kids Policy-
1. Classes
-Classes are scheduled in advance; please check the timetable to confirm dates and times.
2. Enrollment & Late Enrollment
-Students must enroll before the start of the term to secure a spot.
-Late enrollment is permitted if spaces are available. Fees for late enrollment will be prorated based on remaining classes.
3. Attendance & Make-Ups
- Makeups may be available with evidence of illness or previously planned events. Due to the limited timetable for this term, make-up classes are not promised and are at the owner's discretion.
-Attendance is counted per class purchased; missed classes cannot be carried forward.
4. Refunds & Partial Refunds
-No refunds are available for any reason, including withdrawal, change of mind, or illness.
-Partial refunds may be granted only with documented evidence of PCS (Permanent Change of Station) or military relocation orders.
5. Health & Safety / Liability
-Participation in classes is at the student’s own risk.
-By enrolling, students (or parents/guardians for minors) acknowledge and accept the physical nature of dance and release LIDC, its staff, and instructors from any liability for injury, accident, or loss occurring during classes, on-site, or at related events.
-Students must inform the instructor of any existing medical conditions that may affect participation.
6. Code of Conduct
-Students are expected to respect instructors, staff, fellow students, and the studio environment.
-Any disruptive or unsafe behavior may result in removal from class without refund.
7. Payment & Membership Policies
-Full payment is required at the time of enrollment.
-Membership is non-transferable.
-In the event a class is canceled by LIDC, notice will be provided whenever possible, and affected students may attend a different class within their membership allowance if scheduling permits.
8. Photography & Media
-Students may appear in photos or videos taken during classes for promotional purposes unless written notice is provided at the time of enrollment.
9. Policy Amendments
-Locked In Dance Company reserves the right to update or modify these policies at any time. Students will be notified of changes via email or posted notice.

Booking & Payment Security: All registrations and tuition payments are processed through industry-leading encrypted platforms. We prioritize your financial security and do not store sensitive payment details on our local systems.
Parental Trust: We never share or sell family data to third-party marketers. Our systems are designed to respect your privacy, allowing you to focus on the joy of dance with total peace of mind.
